“Fraction of Eternity” – photo essay

For me, October is like the scent of tomatoes from my father’s garden—intense and remarkably fresh. In it, a sweet longing mingles with the sun.

In October, we gathered at The Secret Garden in Galway to celebrate “A Fraction of Eternity”– —my poetry collection—but that wasn’t all. For we were also celebrating all of your own “fractions of eternity.”

Poems were interwoven with songs, conversations, the simple pleasure of sipping tea, and the crunch of brownies and cheesecake. Today on the blog, I’m sharing a photo recap of the event.

When I looked at all of you, so deeply absorbed in the moment, my stage fright vanished instantly—because together, we had created a cozy gathering fueled by passion. Svitlana Soloviova with talk hosting and Sinéad Ann shared their songs; Donncha—who had played the mandolin for us just the day before—was there; Angela organized the microphone; and Hugh filmed the whole thing. Thanks this Jocelyn to watch it later via a projector, while Sharon—all the way across the ocean, Daria, in Aleksandrów, Justa between letters could experience it too. This event even went to Ania’s dream in poet Edward Stachura’s house!

Here are the emotions, captured with true passion by the talented photographer Maciek Doczyk.
