A woman over 40 s puts on sunny sneakers with a dress in raindrops. And a coat in the color of a Lisbon tenement house. Helena the hairdresser woke silver and copper paths on her head. One of them leads to the River Corrib.
April afternoon smells of daisies, cloves, irises, and wild tulips. Although a bit too windy and wet for spring, fulfilled dreams shine in the temporary sun.
Small wickets to the secret gardens are still open and a young feeling flows in the arterieswoman. Why count flowers in a bouquet, how many Portugal she has tasted, turquoise waves in the Atlantic, oranges rolling around the streets of Sevilla, captured frames in imponderable memory? Life still happens, don’t have to achieve anything, just breathe and be happy.
